The Backup Of Full-Text Catalog 'FullTextCatalog' Is Not Permitted Because It Is Not Online

ERROR:
Error message when you perform a full backup of a database in SQL Server: "Backup failed for Server 'ComputerName\SQLInstanceName' " or " The backup of full-text catalog 'FullTextCatalog' is not permitted because it is not online.

This error usually occurs because a full-text catalog in the database is not online. To perform a full backup, SQL Server requires all the database files and full-text catalogs in the database to be online.

Work around
Step 1: First find out the files are related to full-text catalog in the database.

Step 2: Move the files using Alter Database. Specify in the statement the correct location for the full-text catalog.

Step 3: Rebuild the problematic full-text catalog in the database.

Step 4: And now take a full backup of the database again.
